Celebrating our Alumni

Celebrating our Alumni
Dr. Emma Whitman, Head of School

In April, the Memorial Garden came alive with laughter, hugs, and familiar chatter as we welcomed back the All Saints’ Class of 2021 for our annual Alumni Party. It felt like a homecoming and a great party.

This incredible group of students, now recent or soon-to-be high school graduates, is preparing to take their next steps at colleges and universities across the country—including Arizona State University, Bates College, Claremont McKenna, Duke, Harvard, Johns Hopkins, Purdue, Stanford, Tulane, the United States Naval Academy, the University of Arizona, the University of Southern California, Wake Forest, and William & Mary. Their paths are as unique and impressive as they are.

Watching the students reconnect with classmates, shoot hoops on the same basketball court they once played on every day, and laugh over their eighth-grade graduation sideshow reminded me of how far they’ve come and how much they still carry with them from their time at All Saints’.

I loved talking with each of them and hearing about who they are today. One student, once shy and reserved in middle school, now leads clubs and sports teams at her high school and is heading off to her top-choice university. If you met her today, you’d never guess she was once the quiet girl who needed whispered encouragement before a Chapel presentation. That transformation is the magic of All Saints’.

As they swapped stories about pre-kindergarten, middle school milestones, and beloved traditions like Harvest Fair and Special Persons Day, it was clear: their friendships are still strong, their memories still vivid. They also shared their nervousness and excitement as they plan to embark on their college journeys. You could feel their anticipation, their readiness, and their deep appreciation for the foundation that All Saints’ gave them.

So many of them spoke with gratitude about their time here. They remembered their favorite teachers, the lessons that stuck, and even group projects that didn’t quite go as planned, but still taught them something.

We asked the alumni to share their reflections in a quick survey, and their words say it best:

“Everything about the culture of All Saints’, from the classes to the teachers to the peers, was perfect for preparing me for my next steps.”

“All Saints’ was amazing and I learned so, so much. Loved the community and teachers!”

“This community has prepared me so well! I grew to become a better leader and student!”

“I always firmly believed that All Saints’ provided me with the perfect balance of academic rigor and excellence, and also granted me the opportunity to experience a fun and fulfilling childhood. I believe this balance is what truly prepared me well to succeed in high school.”

“I plan to send my children to All Saints when I’m older.”

As we prepare to celebrate our current eighth graders, the Class of 2025, I can’t help but feel proud. These Tigers are ready. Ready to lead, to grow, to face new challenges with grace and courage.

But, no matter how far they go, they’ll always be a part of our All Saints’ story.
